Abstract

This microreview provides a comprehensive summary of recent advancements (2021–2025) in photocatalytic and electrocatalytic cyclization methodologies for the synthesis of functionalized polycyclic quinoxalin-2(1H)-ones. Particular emphasis is placed on innovative approaches that facilitate the efficient and sustainable construction of diverse fused multi-heterocyclic architectures under mild reaction conditions.
