Abstract

This review considers the data available in the literature about the Butin reaction – acid-catalyzed transformations of furans to a range of other heterocycles as a result of intramolecular attack at the α-carbon atom of furan ring by nucleophile, which is linked by a chain of three to six atoms of various types to the same α-carbon atom of furan ring.
