Abstract

We have developed a novel method for synthesis of quinoline-8-selenol using selenourea instead of the previously used potassium selenocyanate. We have synthesized a series of metal quinoline-8-selenolates. We have studied the cytotoxic activity of the synthesized compounds against HT-1080, MG-22A, B16, Neuro 2A tumor cells. Mercury quinoline-8-selenolate is distinguished by high cytotoxicity for the three cell lines; the cadmium complex is most effective against B16 melanoma cells.
