Abstract

In this microreview, the noncatalyzed (3+2) cycloaddition reactions leading to the nitro-substituted analogs of the pyrrolidine are analyzed based on recent literature. The preparation of the title compounds is possible on the basis of the generated in situ azomethine ylides as three atom components and nitroalkenes/ nitrodienes as 4π-components. Almost all recently described processes of this type lead to stable cycloadducts and are realized with high selectivity.
