Nucleophilic substitution of fluorine atoms in 2,3,5,6-tetrafluoropyridine-4-carbonitrile with sodium azide was used to obtain tetraazidopyridine-4-carbonitrile, the structure of which was studied by spectral methods and X-ray structural analysis. The enthalpy of formation and impact sensitivity of this compound were also assessed.
