Аннотация

A versatile and efficient protocol has been developed for the direct arylation of thiazoles at positions 2 and 5 and thiazole N-oxides at positions 2, 4, and 5. This method utilizes combined microwave and ultrasound irradiation with water as the reaction solvent. The approach enabled the synthesis of various 2,5-diarylthiazoles in moderate to high yields. Furthermore, the protocol allowed to successfully prepare 2-(3,5-dimethylphenyl)-5-methyl-4-phenylthiazole, a representative 2,4,5-trisubstituted thiazoles with different substituents. This approach not only simplifies the process but also reduces costs and minimizes environmental impact, making it a sustainable alternative.
